MEMEBOX Order - Snails!

In my previous post, I mentioned the concerns I had for the cleansing water I had purchased. After I bought it, I placed another order with MEMEBOX just in case things didn't work out.

Not a huge order, just Acwell Bubble Free pH Balancing Cleanser, Scinic Snail All In One Ampoule and two collagen sheet masks from Etude House.

I decided to buy the Acwell cleanser after seeing rave reviews where people claimed it was their "holy grail" product. This is not a foam cleanser, it's a gel, and you can use it as your first or second cleanser (or both). I hope it works as well for me as it has for other people.

The Etude House sheet masks are typical. Put it on, wait twenty minutes, pat the remaining essence into your skin. My face was left feeling hydrated and looking brightened. Not much to say there. It did what I expected it to do.

Now. That snail ampoule...

For a long time, I have been fighting the snail craze. I like snails, but not on my face. The idea of applying snail mucus to my skin made me cringe. I really had to talk myself into it. "It's not just snail mucus. It's gone through a process. There are other ingredients. It's okay." Even then, the thought of snail products really put me off. But I was still tempted.

I bought this ampoule because of the reviews and also because it's an all-in-one product. At night, there are times when I'm too tired to go through my entire skincare routine. I thought this ampoule would cut my routine in half. Now that it's actually in my possession, I'm not so sure about it as an AIO. It would work better as an essence.

Before I even get into my first impressions after using it, I want to talk about my first impressions upon opening it.

I wanted to close the jar back up. For good. It's so cloudy looking. And there are bubbles. I didn't even want to touch it. And the SCENT. I have an aversion to anything floral scented, and to me, this smells floral. It smells so floral it actually made me physically sick. Still, I worked up the courage to touch it. Slowly. Very slowly, actually.

One of the reviews I read said that the ampoule feels "slick" and I remember being disgusted when I read that. But it's an accurate description. It absorbs quickly though, so your face isn't left looking oily.

I first wore it overnight a couple days ago. When I woke up in the morning, it was the best my bare face has looked in years. I've mentioned this already, but thankfully, the only problem I have is dry skin. So I can't say what this product will do for scarring or wrinkles or any of that. But for my dry skin, this worked miracles overnight. I'm not sure how it will affect my skin long-term, I'm hoping it won't just be a temporary fix, but as of right now, I'm left with a really good first impression.

I also want to mention that I was really concerned about wearing this during the day because I thought maybe it would make my skin oily, but it didn't. At all. It just made my face feel soft and moisturized and it got rid of the dullness that goes along with dry skin.

My co-workers knew about my snail drama. So I brought this into work with me and let them see it for themselves because they were really curious about it. By the time I was done with them, they both asked me to text them the link to the website so they could also buy it. And they didn't mind the scent at all. I really want to point that out because even though I hate it, they liked it and they didn't think it was nearly as strong as I think it is.

I'm excited to see how the ampoule helps my skin over the next few months. If the past couple days are any indication, I think this will be the beginning of a snail obsession.
