MEMEBOX Order - Nooni Root Energy Cleansing Water

Around the same time I placed my Etude House orders, I placed two orders with MEMEBOX. I was looking for something to replace my foam cleansers because, after checking a spreadsheet on r/AsianBeauty, I saw that not only does my Shisedo cleanser have a pH of 9, but so does the Etude House cleanser I just purchased.

My first order only consisted of the Nooni Root Energy Cleansing Water. The reason I ordered this specific cleansing water is because I saw someone on r/AsianBeauty mention that just using a cleansing oil followed by this product immensely helped their dry skin. Sign me up! I have dry skin. I'm very fortunate that that's my only skin issue, but it's still frustrating. I'm not dehydrated, I drink a ton of water every day, I almost never drink anything else, but my skin is still dry.

Because my normal skincare routine consisted of an oil cleanser followed by a foam cleanser, I was very apprehensive about not using a foam cleanser. Everything I have read said cleansing water should be used like makeup wipes, for quick cleanup if you're absolutely desperate, but it's not meant to be used as an actual cleanser. I was worried that not using a foam cleanser would result in breakouts.

I have been using the cleansing water for a week and a half now. I usually only wash my face at night, since I take a shower when I wake up in the morning and I don't feel washing my face is necessary.  Before using the cleansing water, I wash my face with my Shiseido cleansing oil. Then, I use [at least] five cotton pads (I have the type that pull apart, so technically it's one cotton pad, using all five layers) to make absolutely sure all my makeup has been removed...I hate doing it. Scrubbing my face, even gently, with cotton pads cannot be helping the situation.

After using the cleansing water, up until tonight, my skin did feel soft. Right now, it  feels dry and like it's on fire, even after applying aloe to my face to help reduce the irritation. I'm telling you, it's the cotton pads. And even though I always made sure each cotton pad came away clear without a trace of makeup before I stopped watching, my face never really felt clean. I will say that there have been no breakouts though. That was my main concern when I stopped using a foam cleanser, but it hasn't been an issue.

Until tonight, I would have said this is a decent product. It's not something I would have repurchased, but it seemed to do its job. Now though, with the way my face feels after washing, I sincerely recommend finding a pH balanced cleanser. Do not rub cotton pads on your skin. I knew it was a bad idea, but I did it anyway and now, after a week and a half, my skin has had enough of it.
