Spoilers...Spoilers, spoilers.
I will most likely make a huge post about this game at some point. But I just woke up, and I don't really feel like it at the moment.
The game is amazing. Do not let anything that I'm about to say convince you otherwise. I REALLY enjoyed it. That being said...
1) Luckily, I didn't level Shinjiro up during the five minutes I was able to play with him. I honestly don't know if I feel worse that he dies, or that some people probably spend a lot of time leveling him up, just to have to WATCH him die.
2) The MC...Dead. At the end of the game. Now, granted...He had to die. The story wouldn't have been as great as it was if he'd lived. Even so, it was sad. At least his level carries over in New Game+ though!
3) The full moon. I restarted Persona 3 TWICE. If you don't grind in Tartarus enough by the time the next full moon comes, you're in trouble. There's nothing you can do, unless you have another save file and you can go back and fix your stupidity. The third time I started the game, I switched to easy. That may seem cheap, but I was so tired of it at that point. I just wanted to finish it.
4) Nyx. The final nail in the coffin. Nyx is the last boss, and I spent two hours fighting it, and then another half hour with the cutscenes AFTER fighting it. I didn't realize how long it would take. And actually, I didn't even REALLY fight Nyx, I let Yukari, Mitsuru and Junpei do the work while I healed, because let's face it...Yukari isn't very reliable with her Mediarama skill. I think that because of that...Nyx was the most boring boss fight ever.
5) Koromaru. I hate when anything bad happens to an animal in movies or games...It just bothers me. So whenever I'd bring this dog into Tartarus and he'd get attacked, it upset me a little.
6) Yukari. There's nothing likable about her, in my opinion. That's all I have to say about this.
7) The revival event. Junpei is SO excited to see Chidori alive...And then it's never mentioned again. They should have just left it out of FES. As nice as it was, it just kind of took away from her death.
As bad as that all seems, it's really not.
The grinding in Persona 3 isn't torture. Tartarus is set up so that you go through between eight - twelve floors and fight a boss. Being broken up like that makes it seem less tedious.
There are social links that you can do during the day, after school. Some of them are interesting, others are not. But maxing them out enables you to fuse stronger personas to use in battle, so it's definitely worth it.
Persona 3 is worth playing for the story alone, but as long as you don't have to restart twelve million times, you should enjoy the battle system as well.
Oh, and the best part of the game...Junpei has the same voice actor as Mao from Disgaea 3 -- Vic Mignogna. (Yukari has the same voice actor as Etna, and Akihiko has the same voice actor as Master Big Star...I think there were others, but I can't remember them.)
Sadly, I cannot comment on The Answer, as by the time I was done fighting Nyx, I decided not to pick this game back up for at least another year. I'll have to play the side-story in 2010.
